Visit Stoney Point Park

You’ll find Stoney Point Park on Topanga Canyon Boulevard between Chatsworth Street and the 118 Freeway. It’s also known as the Stoney Point Outcroppings and Chatsworth Formation. The Los Angeles city park is popular for hiking, rock climbing, and connects to Bridle Trail. Although Chatsworth is often considered a suburb of L.A., you’ll feel far from the bustle of the city at this green getaway just a few minutes from your Canoga Park hotel.

It became a World Heritage Site in 1974 and features 76 sprawling acres to explore. With plenty of rocky outcroppings, paths and caves, it’s a true adventurer’s destination. Grab your climbing or scrabbling gear (or rent some from one of Chatsworth’s rock gyms) and see southern California through a brand-new lens.

A Romantic Date

The West Hills area offers some of the best outdoor recreation in the state. The park is well-maintained with ample parking and is close to the roads for easy access. However, even in February Woodland Hills can be hot. Dress in layers and pack on the sunscreen.

At Stoney Point Park, you can easily spend a day or two discovering all the trails and hidden nooks and crannies. Pack a picnic and make a day of it.
