A Patriotic Fourth
Globe has a rich and varied history. From the indigenous communities to the Wild West and influences from Mexico, Globe is a veritable melting pot. Yet it’s also remained relatively isolated. The small, charming community is a favorite getaway for the holidays, including the Fourth of July when historic downtown goes all out with decorations and deals. Although more rural areas in Arizona like Globe offer a show-stopping night sky display most evenings with the stars, the local fireworks are also a wonder to behold.
Globe has been celebrating the Fourth of July in style for years. Take a look at the YouTube video featuring a Fourth of July parade and party circa 1935. It features the Pioneer Hotel and Cedar Street. As you can see, a lot has changed—but Globe has also held strong to its turn-of-the-century roots.
Celebrate in Style
Many shops and restaurants around town show off their patriotic side with specials. Pick up a pack of sparklers to make your own Independence Day memories, and don’t forget to pick up that all-American apple pie from the Copper Hen.
Clint’s Blue Line BBQ is a favorite for those who prefer to let the experts take care of the grilling complete with southwestern style twists. How will you be celebrating this year?
