Your St. Patrick’s Day Guide
It’s not all just a bunch of malarkey at Malarky’s Irish Celebration in nearby Newport Beach. Head to 3011 Newport Boulevard for a weekend of Irish bagpipers and traditional fare. Breakfast is served starting at 6 a.m., and you can score prime rib for lunch or dinner. Green beer is flowing the entire weekend, along with Jameson and green shot specials. Don’t forget to snag your special Malarky’s celebration shirt before you go.
At Gallagher’s Irish Music Event in Huntington Beach, you’ll be treated to two Irish bands. Gallagher’s serves authentic Irish fare year-round, and you’ll find this hideaway at 300 Pacific Coast Highway #113. Classic Irish music combined with your favorite lucky dishes makes for a weekend that will make your friends green with envy.
Luck of the Irish
Stick close to home at the Fenians St. Patrick’s Day Celebration, taking place at the City National Grove of Anaheim. Located at 2200 E. Katella Avenue, the award-winning Irish band serves up a full night of fun. The doors open at 6 p.m. and tickets are just $25 per person—though you can add on dinner for an extra fee.
One of the biggest parties in town takes place at Muldoon’s 39th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Party. Check out 202 Newport Center Drive in Newport Beach for the “Shamrock ‘n’ Roll,” a full three days of partying. The “best Irish pub” in the area includes live entertainment, Irish dishes, dancing, and plenty of good cheer—all with no cover.
