Your New Year’s New Orleans Guide
Nothing beats New Year’s in New Orleans, especially when you know where all the great parties are! In some ways, Mardi Gras never ends so you can count on Bourbon Street, the Garden District and the French Quarter to be full of great parties spilling over into the streets. However, if you want a definite destination, make reservations now. Jackson Square’s Jax Brewery has a “Baby New Year” and fireworks show—and of course, incredible beer.
Big galas are always held at Tipitina’s and the House of Blues, but you’ll be able to find parties at every single bar and club in town. For something more family oriented, head to the Louisiana Children’s Museum for the “Countdown to Noon” in the middle of the day. Then, if you like, it can be an adults-only affair in the evening.
Party City
The Audubon Zoo has a “Noon New Year’s Eve” too, and it’s one of the top-rated zoos in the nation. Live music, games, prizes and apple cider are abundant, making it the perfect destination to tackle a double whammy: Get your New Year’s groove on while ticking another NOLA bucket list item off the list.
The Big Night New Orleans New Year’s Eve Extravaganza gives you an excuse to dress up. Or dress down with celebratory beignets at the legendary Café Du Monde, open 24 hours. (Pro tip: Nothing pairs better with champagne than beignets!)
