However, the sheer size of the Mississippi River has made Crescent City a popular port for navy ships of all sizes. Discover six ships from three countries along the river banks, all of which will be giving free tours.<\/p>\n

The US Navy is sailing the USS Wasp, USS James E. Williams, and USS Cole to town. From the US Coastguard, tour the USCGC Dauntless. The Royal Canadian Navy and British Royal Navy are also coming to town. NOLA Navy Week also means the Navy Week Gala at the National World War II Museum and the Seafood Cook-Off at the Spanish Plaza close to the Riverwalk are taking place.<\/p>\n
All Aboard!<\/strong><\/p>\n Fireworks pepper the night sky. Head to the Algiers Point or the Woldenberg Riverfront Park for the best views. Throughout the week, concerts pop up around town to pay homage to the service men and women of the Navy, and you\u2019ll find plenty of specials in bars, clubs, and pubs.<\/p>\n Ships are open daily for free tours, and the on-board visits operate on a first-come, first-served basis.
