Next, add \u00bd cup of white sugar, 1 teaspoon of salt, two eggs and one cup of evaporated milk. Blend well, then mix in four cups of your preferred flour. All-purpose flour is recommended if you don\u2019t pick up special flour from your favorite beignet shop.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Batter Up!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Beat the flour into the mixture until it\u2019s smooth, then add \u00bc cup shortening. Next, add an additional three cups of flour and blend well. Cover the bowl and chill for ideally 24 hours. After it\u2019s chilled, roll the dough out to 1\/8-inch thick and cut into 2 \u00bd-inch squares.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The squares are fried at 360 degrees Fahrenheit in hot oil. Are the beignets not \u201cpopping?\u201d Increase the heat.
