New Orleans Pride
Of all the pride parades and events around the country, New Orleans is one of the most popular—tripling in size over the past five years. Spanning from June 9 – 11, it all starts with a Pride Weekend Kick-Off Party where you can mingle with local celebrities. Next up is Family Day in the park with vendors, food trucks, and plenty of children’s activities and live entertainment. Come for a family-style picnic, and admission is always free.
The New Orleans Pride Parade winds through the French Quarter, led by Grand Marshals. If you think the Mardi Gras parades are something spectacular, you won’t want to miss out on this summer festival in the streets. The Pride Parade After Party is a real showstopper, with parties popping up all over town.
Where’s Your Pride?
Pride Brunch is of course New Orleans style. Get your tickets and don’t miss out on local and national acts, or the keynote speech to wrap up the weekend. Throughout June, you’ll find a variety of related programs and events surrounding pride with fundraisers at various locales in the city.
The weekend is hosted by Jake Shears, DJ Honey Dijon, Johnny Scruff and many more—including some surprise hosts and performers. For those staying in New Orleans through June, cap off the month with the New Orleans Pride Pageant on June 29.
