Louisiana is getting ready for the Christmas season
When is the best time to visit New Orleans? It all depends on what you want to get out of your vacation. November and December are the ideal months to visit New Orleans. The weather is pleasant, and you will notice the holiday feel in the city. Because there are fewer people around at this time of year, transportation and hotels are less expensive. Check out some great places you can visit while in Louisiana during the Christmas Season.
Go ice skating
NOLA Christmas Fest, a dazzling, family-friendly festive festival, is presented by Coca-Cola. Get into the holiday spirit, spread some cheer and spread some happiness. A 12-day event is planned for 2021 (closed on December 23 and 24), with two sessions each day — a morning timed admission and an evening one. Tickets will be available for purchase in the fall of 2021. You will find an indoor ice rink, ice slides, carnival rides, Santa and his friends, Gingerbread houses, decorated trees and more!
Festival of bonfire
Bonfires illuminated the road for “Papa Noel,” the Cajun version of Santa Claus. In a recently discovered 1871 photograph, members of the Lacoul and de Lobel Mahy families are depicted gathered around two bonfires in front of Laura Plantation in West St. James Parish. Some people believe the bonfires served as navigational aids for ships navigating the river.
Miracle pop-up
Miracle is a Christmas-themed pop-up cocktail bar that provides seasonal cocktails in a festive setting. The concept was born when the owner, Greg Boehm, put his upcoming East Village cocktail bar on hold in 2014. Miracle expanded to four locations in 2016 and expanded internationally, with pop-ups in Greece, Montreal and Paris.
