Longue Vue House and Gardens

Summer is the perfect time to explore the 1939 mansion and gorgeous, sprawling gardens located at 7 Bamboo Rd. Eight immaculately maintained acres of gardens showcase both native and exotic flowers, making it the perfect space for your special event. The Sterns created this paradise in the city with the help of landscape architect Ellen Biddle Shipman. Longue Vue remains one of the most incredible American homes built circa the Country Place Era, requiring three years of efforts from architects the Platt brothers.

Take a house tour and discover three elegant stories with one-of-a-kind New Orleans features and flair. With 20 rooms and both English and American antiques, you’ll gaze upon imported carpets, modern art, and incredible costumes, haute couture, and needlework collections. From the curved wrought iron doors to the fashionable rooms, every room is a surprise.

A Romantic Escape

Although any time of year is a beautiful time to visit Longue Vue, the summer is particularly special. Rotating exhibitions are featured throughout the house, making every visit unique. Spend the afternoon exploring the gardens, or take a guided tour to learn more about the landscape architecture of the landmark home.
