Coming Up: The Running Of The Bulls
If you’ve ever wanted to run with the bulls in Spain, New Orleans has an event you’re not going to want to miss!
On July 13th, you’ll have the opportunity to run with some bulls through the streets of New Orleans, except these “bulls” are played by the Big Easy Rollergirls, complete with horns and plastic bats to beat you with. It’s a fun, thrilling, and hilarious event. To participate, just buy tickets and stand along their route wearing red and white. Afterwards, enjoy the post-party!
Pre-Party: El Txupinazo
On Friday, enjoy the pre-event gala featuring small plates from Apolline and Bacchanal, drinks from LuLa Distillery, and a silent auction benefitting Beth’s Friends Forever, a local organization that provides support for women battling cancer, and Big Easy Animal Rescue. It’s a lot of fun and a great way to get in the mood for the main event.
The Running
During the running of the bulls, be prepared to get hit with plastic bats, and stay on your guard! Afterwards, attend La Fiesta de Pantalones at the Rusty Nail, where you’ll have the opportunity to drink and dance the night away. Celebrate surviving the run with some newfound friends!
Post-Party
On Sunday, attend El Pobre di Mi, a brunch event at Lula Distillery to help you recover from the exercise and alcohol from the day before. Enjoy delicious food, some cocktails (if you’re in need of hair-of-the-dog), and entertainment. You can even enter a Hemingway look-a-like contest!
