Coming Up: Party For The Planet

If you wanted to give back while you’re in New Orleans, you don’t want to miss the Party For The Planet!

Coming Up: Party For The Planet

Entergy and the Audubon Louisiana Nature Center will host a series of events and demonstrations about ecology and conservation.  Simultaneously, you will have the opportunity to join in on volunteer work dedicated towards saving the planet, making it a fun and productive day.

June 8 – World Oceans Day

Join the Audubon Society at the Audubon Aquarium of the Americas to learn about marine life and the impact of humans on the oceans.  Get a deeper look at the pretty fish you see in the giant tanks by listening to Audubon staff and conservation experts.

June 9 – Coastal Cleanup

Help minimize ocean pollution by meeting at Bayou St. John and picking up litter before it reaches the rivers or ocean.  Afterwards, there will be a discussion on how to continue to minimize trash in the planet’s water and reduce the use of plastics.

June 22 – Pollination Celebration

Visit the Audubon Butterfly Garden and Insectarium to learn about the importance of pollination and the insects or animals involved in the process.  There will be all sorts of activities to show the importance of protecting our planet’s bees, hummingbirds, beetles, and more, along with a variety of talks from ecologists and conservationists sharing valuable information into the issues these creatures face.

Spend some time learning and helping the environment while you’re in New Orleans, then enjoy some of the city’s other offerings!
