A Creole Thanksgiving
Celebrate Thanksgiving NOLA-style at one of these amazing restaurants!
Jack Rose
Jack Rose is a restaurant focused on celebrating food, and this philosophy is clearest on Thanksgiving. Their prix fixe menu offers choices of delicious courses, including crispy pork belly, sweet potato bisque, and, of course, turkey, stuffed with cornbread. For dessert, enjoy a bread pudding with curried banana ice cream and caramel sauce.
Galatoire’s 33
Galatoire’s is also offering a prix fixe menu with sausage cornbread, oyster stuffing, candied yams, and other Southern classics. The turkey is brined in a vanilla bourbon marinade, which is sure to bring some warm fall flavors to the poultry, and is served alongside a juicy prime rib. Dessert will consist of pumpkin pie, topped with cinnamon meringues and toasted marshmallows. By the end of the meal, you’ll know you’ve feasted!
August
August has a number of options for Thanksgiving, from a seafood-stuffed cabbage to carrot ravioli. Enjoy turkey in two forms, because the chefs always go the extra mile to elevate your palate, and then finish with apple brown betty, served a la mode with brown butter ice cream.
Bourbon House
While the regular menu will be available, you’ll definitely want to take advantage of the special holiday menu being offered. Start with spicy seafood gumbo, followed by turkey stuffed with an oyster dressing, and creamy green bean casserole. Pear tarte tatin finishes the meal, with the perfect balance of sweet and tart.
Broussard’s
Broussard’s is offering a very traditional Southern Thanksgiving menu, from Creole turtle soup to turkey with brandied green beans, oyster dressing, and mashed potatoes. Finish with sweet and creamy oreo pumpkin cheesecake – a unique but delicious blend of flavors.
