The Tonto National Forest is the largest in Arizona with over 2.9 million acres. The area features some of the most beautiful sights in the country. This National Forest is one of the most visited urban forests in the United States and offers recreational activities throughout the year.<\/span><\/p>\n

Roosevelt Lake and Marina<\/b><\/h2>\n

Roosevelt Lake was created in 1911 with the completion of the Theodore Roosevelt Dam as part of the Salt River Project. At that time, it was the world\u2019s largest man-made lake. When you visit, you can try the common recreational activities in this area which is fishing. You can find a variety of fish in the lake such as carp, sunfish, channel catfish, flathead, largemouth and smallmouth bass.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Besh Ba Gowah Archeological Park<\/b><\/h2>\n

Besh Ba Gowah was an ancient village, its ruins standing one mile southwest of the City of Globe. The term Besh Ba Gowah was given originally by the Apaches, which translates \u201cPlace of Metal\u201d. The place was partially restored with the adjacent museum which provides a perfect glimpse of how the people lived before. Now, go and explore the ruins!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
