Wondering how to spend two days in Globe?<\/h3>\n

\"48<\/p>\n

Globe has so many amazing things\u00a0 to do that it may be hard to choose if you’re only in town for a limited amount of time.\u00a0 We put together an two-day itinerary so you don’t miss the most important things.<\/p>\n

Day 1<\/h2>\n

https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/By-auNogRZP\/<\/p>\n

8:00 AM:\u00a0 Start the day with breakfast at the Copper Hen Bakery<\/a>.\u00a0 Their biscuits and gravy is amazing, and will give you plenty of energy for the day.<\/p>\n

9:00 AM: Drive to Besh Ba Gowah Archaeological Park<\/a>, where you’ll spend the morning wandering through an old Salado village.\u00a0 The Salado tribe occupied the Globe area in the 12th century, and while most of their culture has been lost over the years, their cliff dwellings remain.\u00a0 There’s over 200 rooms in the ruins, and in the on-site museum, you can see the pottery and tools that have been discovered by archaeologists, and learn more about their history and culture.\u00a0 It’s very interesting, so you’ll definitely need a few hours.<\/p>\n

11:30 AM:\u00a0 After all of that walking, you’ll probably be a bit hungry, and you certainly can’t visit Globe without eating at Chalo’s Casa Reynoso<\/a>.\u00a0 The Charro Completo burro is the perfect introduction to Globe’s Mexican food scene, and there is no doubt that it will fill you up.\u00a0 Finish with the fried ice cream to cool off before you venture into the afternoon heat.<\/p>\n

1:00 PM: Walk to the Gila County Historic Museum<\/a> to learn about the history of Globe.\u00a0 See exhibits dedicated to the Salado and Hohokam tribes that founded the area, then learn about ranching life from the 1800’s.\u00a0 You’ll also see an exhibit covering the mining community from the early 1900’s that covers both how the mining industry grew the town, as well as the dangers of such a career.<\/p>\n

3:30 PM:\u00a0 Nearby, you’ll find the old Sheriff’s Office<\/a>, the most haunted place in Globe.\u00a0 Both Kingsley Old<\/a> and the two daughters he murdered haunt the jail, as do numerous other prisoners who died on-site.\u00a0 You may hear singing or feel a chill in the attic, but you’ll also learn about how prisoners were treated in small town jails in the 19th and 20th centuries.<\/p>\n

6:30 PM: Once you’re done exploring the jail, head to Copper Bistro<\/a> for dinner.\u00a0 The mango glaze is delicious and unique on shrimp, or enjoy a giant ribeye grilled to perfection.<\/p>\n

8:00 PM: When you finish dinner, walk the town a bit, then go to Noel’s Sweets<\/a> for dessert.\u00a0 Their fudge is so rich and just melts in your mouth.\u00a0 Flavors change regularly.<\/p>\n

9:00 PM:\u00a0 Close out the night with some local culture at Jammerz<\/a>.\u00a0 The beers are cold, the music is loud, and the patrons are friendly.\u00a0 Talk to the locals and learn why they love Globe, and work off any remaining energy on the dance floor!<\/p>\n

Day 2<\/h2>\n

8:00 AM: It’s breakfast time again, and this time you should visit Bernard’s Coffeehouse<\/a>.\u00a0 They offer burritos for a protein-filled breakfast, or pancakes with fresh fruit if you want something a bit sweeter.\u00a0 And, of course, you\u00a0must<\/em> try the coffee – their white chocolate mocha is amazing!<\/p>\n

9:00 AM: Enjoy the outdoors at the Boyce Thompson Arboretum<\/a>.\u00a0 You’ll see a variety of desert plants and learn which ones have medicinal usages, which are edible.\u00a0 You’ll also learn about local reptiles and insects, and their role in the Sonoran ecosystem.<\/p>\n

12:00 PM: If you like sushi, Bloom<\/a> is the place to go for lunch.\u00a0 Order the Trust Me Roll – the chef will create some masterpiece according to what’s freshest and his own whims.\u00a0 It’s well worth the risk, and a great way to try something new.<\/p>\n

1:30 PM: Spend the afternoon keeping cool on Roosevelt Lake<\/a>.\u00a0 Rent a boat or kayak from the marina and cool off with the lake breeze.\u00a0 You can fish if you’d like, waterski, or just lay back and relax.\u00a0 It’s a great way to spend an afternoon, especially after a busy trip.<\/p>\n

6:00 PM:\u00a0 When you’re done on the lake, head back into town for dinner at a wonderful Italian restaurant called DeMarco’s<\/a>.\u00a0 The California Pasta is light and refreshing, or you may love the rich Chicken Marsala.\u00a0 Everything is good, so pick whatever sounds best to you!<\/p>\n

9:00 PM:\u00a0 Finish the evening with a drink at The Huddle<\/a>, another local favorite. The place and the people are goofy and friendly, and always engaging in funny antics, so you’ll definitely walk away with some stories to take home!<\/p>\n
