<\/p>\nThe Arizona Commission for the Arts selected the top nine Arizona \u201ccreative communities\u201d in 2017 for an inaugural project, and Globe is included in the list. The 12-month collaborative learning program is led by experts in creative engagement. Hosted by the Arizona State University\u2019s Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts (HIDA) and the Southwest Folklife Alliance (SFA), the competitive process considered the inspiration, beauty, and creative prowess of every community in the state.<\/p>\n

The nine communities will spend a year exploring how the state\u2019s creativity can be maximized. The network comes with opportunities to share, learn, and work with national experts. Made up of elected officials, community organizers, and civic leaders as well as a wealth of creatives, it\u2019s Globe\u2019s time to shine and show off the unique talents of the region.<\/p>\n
Creativity Around the \u201cGlobe\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n According to the organizers, \u201cWe knew there was an appetite for putting creativity to work \u2026 but did not know how strong an appetite it was.\u201d Globe\u2019s team includes Mayor Al Gameros, ASU student at the College of Public Service and Community Solutions Tiera Guerena, and the Executive Director at the City of Globe Cobre Valley Center for the Arts Paul Tunis.<\/p>\n To get a taste of the arts in Globe, check out one of the many galleries in the historic district.
