Hosted by a neighborhood of homeowners located at Oxnard and Lubao in Woodland Hills, it\u2019s a tourist destination like no other. Pack some hot chocolate in a thermos, grab some locally made gingerbread men for snacks and head to the famous cross-streets for an old-fashioned outing. There\u2019s no official contact or website for Candy Cane Landy, but you\u2019ll likely start spotting folks strolling through the neighborhood once the sun sets throughout the month of December.<\/p>\n

However, the West Valley Warner Center Chamber of Commerce does act as the unofficial liaison for the event. Candy Cane Lane is lit up from dusk until about 11 p.m. starting on the second Saturday in December and extending until New Year\u2019s Day. Head towards Pierce College on the Winnetka exit of the 101, then look for Oxnard or Lubao Streets (and an increasing amount of people as the holiday nears!).<\/p>\n
The Unofficial Lane Rules<\/strong><\/p>\n Unlike some other holiday streets in the nation, Candy Cane Lane does not close to cars on any days. As such, walk carefully and drive slowly with headlights dimmed. Residents have asked that visitors stay no later than 10 p.m. on weeknights, or 11 p.m. on weekends. After these hours, most houses go dark anyway.<\/p>\n The beloved street has been a local tradition since 1952. Every year, there\u2019s a fierce yet friendly competition amongst the neighbors to one-up each other.
