YMCA Alaska offers a wide variety of fitness classes for all ages, with both standard and innovative options, but a favorite is Bootcamp Games.\u00a0 The class combines hard-hitting and difficult bootcamp exercises with fun childhood recess games in order\u00a0to give you a work-out that will make you really feel the burn, but with a smile on your face.<\/p>\n

Krav Maga @ <\/a>Krav Maga Anchorage<\/a><\/h2>\n

You may have heard of Krav Maga – it’s an Israeli martial arts\/self-defense system that values efficiency over grace or form.\u00a0 And, while the self-defense aspect can come in handy, it’s also very good for releasing frustration and getting a good workout.\u00a0 Krav Maga Anchorage offers a free trial class so you can see if it’s something you’re interested, but be prepared – it’s an hour of non-stop motion, and you’ll definitely have some bruises the next day, along with a new passion.\u00a0 As you learn more of the moves, you can even take special courses, such as learning to disarm an active shooter, or how to take down multiple simultaneous attackers.<\/p>\n
